Bring More Beauty to your Holidays

Cosmetics treatments Kihei, HIWe are constantly surrounded by beauty on this island we call Home. The world of beauty shouldn’t end with our environment. Most adults we meet also want to see beauty when they look in the mirror. With the numerous innovations that have occurred in cosmetic surgery and aesthetic medicine, this is a real possibility. With age, we are met with some cosmetic concerns. Fortunately, many of them are very easily managed. Because we have training and experience with the latest injectable treatments, our patients can address age-related cosmetic concerns right here at Aloha Eye Clinic.

Two Ways to Feel More Beautiful

There are two primary treatments that men and women of all ages turn to when they want to rejuvenate: neuromodulators and soft tissue fillers. These are more commonly known as BOTOX® and dermal fillers like JUVÉDERM®.

Neuromodulator products are primarily used in the uppermost part of the face. Initially, BOTOX was approved for the reduction of glabellar lines, or frown lines, as we know them. When this purified protein is introduced to muscle tissue that has become chronically tensed, it inhibits the release of neurotransmitter chemicals that cause contraction. As a result of this inhibited release, muscle gradually smooth, which has a positive effect on overlying skin.

In addition to treating frown lines, BOTOX and other neuromodulators are also often used to reduce worry lines on the forehead, crows’ feet around the eyes, and platysmal bands on the neck. More recently, we see BOTOX frequently used as a non-surgical brow lift technique, and as a method of turning the corners of the mouth into a lovely upward curve.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are more often used on the lower two-thirds of the face; from the under eye area on down. Soft tissue products work to rejuvenate the skin in a different way than BOTOX. These products can fill in lines, creases, and depressions from scars. The base chemical at the heart of most fillers is hyaluronic acid, a sugar compound that is efficient at holding onto water molecules in the body. When strategically introduced to soft tissue, dermal fillers can reduce the appearance of under-eye bags, smile lines, and jowls (by filling out deflated cheeks).
